REFLEXOLOGY IN BRIXHAM

shutterstock_518732404.jpg

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive complementary therapy where finger or thumb pressure is applied to specific points on the feet, lower leg or hands. It works on the basis that our feet reflect the organs and structures of the body and stimulating these points improves circulation encouraging the body to regain and maintain its healthy balance. Stresses of any kind can upset the balance and lead to ill health and disease so reflexology can help improve our health and emotional wellbeing.

A TYPICAL TREATMENT

At your first treatment you will have an initial consultation including a confidential medical questionnaire.  This helps me to build a picture of your health and lifestyle in order to tailor your treatment specifically to you. This first sessions usually takes around 90 minutes.

I like to give my clients a full hour of hands on reflexology so subsequent sessions last around 75 minutes.

Occasionally some reflexes may be tender but these feelings are usually transient and you should experience a relaxing treatment. You remain clothed, just removing socks and shoes.

BRIXHAM REFLEXOLOGY FAQ

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A TREATMENT?

A course of 4 consecutive weekly sessions is recommended initially with follow-up visits every 4-6 weeks to help support your well-being.

IS REFLEXOLOGY SUITABLE FOR ME?

Everyone can benefit from reflexology regardless of age. A very small minority of people may be precluded from receiving treatment but for the overwhelming majority it is beneficial. Please note that reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe and reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.

WHERE DO YOU PRACTICE & DO YOU HAVE PARKING?

I practice in the South Devon coastal town of Brixham where I have my own dedicated treatment room at home in peaceful surroundings. I welcome clients from all over Torbay and further afield. There is ample free onsite parking.

ABOUT ME

I have always been passionate about complementary therapies, in particular reflexology and know from personal experience what an invaluable tool they can be for improved health and well-being. Following a successful career in broadcasting I decided to retrain at the renowned Devon School of Reflexology. It is one of only six schools in the country affiliated to the Association of Reflexologists and a centre of excellence. I was awarded distinction in my diploma.

I am a member of the highly respected Association of Reflexologists (MAR) so you can have confidence that I have been trained to a high, nationally recognised standard (Level 3 diploma) and I am bound by the AOR Code of Practice & Ethics. My learning continues each year whilst practising through Continuing Professional Development. I am fully insured to practice reflexology from my home in Brixham.

I believe that a work/life balance is important to everyone's sense of well-being and I make sure I look after my own health by attending regular pilates classes, swimming in the sea along the wonderful Torbay coastline and of course having reflexology treatments myself!

TESTIMONIALS

What My Clients Say

JS

A wonderfully calming experience!

I've been going for reflexology for months now and yet before I took the decision to go I knew very little about what to expect.

So if you've ever wondered about what it is or about giving it a go you must book a treatment with Jo. All will become clear and be explained.

Jo creates just the right balance of a calm and friendly environment to allow you to relax and enjoy the treatment.

I always leave feeling relaxed and look forward to returning. I recommend Jo wholeheartedly.

JG

Jo is a lovely caring professional reflexologist. Her sessions leave you feeling calm and very relaxed and I would certainly recommend her.

SB

Being a reflexology novice, I was blown away by the feeling of wellbeing generated by Jo's treatment and now I can't imagine life without my regular monthly sessions. She is so sensitive to both my physical and emotional health and I really do feel recharged by the time I leave the relaxing ambience of her treatment room. An experience not to miss in my opinion!
